For those of you who read my VMworld EMEA Blog posts , you will know I took my first VCAP Deploy style exam during my visit. This was my first experience of the Deploy style exam and unfortunately I didn’t pass.
I’m pleased to announce that after a little bit more study and a lot more exam technique, I passed my resit this morning, so once everything has been updated in VMware’s new Certificate Manager tool, I’ll have my second VCAP6 under my belt in 2016 (having already obtained the VCAP6-CMA Design), and this will mean I’ll be 50% completed on VMware Certified Implementation Expert (VCIX) on both the DCV and CMA track!
In case you’re wondering why I’m doing it like this, the VCAP6-CMA Deploy has only just been released so I decided to concentrate on the DCV track - which will probably be my initial VCDX submission if I make it next year.
How did I study for this exam?
Originally I planned on creating my own exam study guide, but after stumbling across a few blogs, I decided it wasn’t worth re-inventing the wheel, after all I like to work smarter not harder…
A particularly good article was on fellow vExpert, and NE VMUG Leader, Kyle Jenner ’s VCAP6-DCV blog so if you’re considering studying for the VCAP6-DCV Deploy go along to his site and take a look at his #awesome blog series which really helped fill the gaps in my knowledge in a quick and easy fashion.
