Today I was lucky enough to be able to present to a capacity crowd at the North East VMUG. There was an #EPIC line up that included the #WreckingCrewReunited Duncan Epping, Frank Denneman and Rawlinson Rivera #NoPressure. Presenting other community sessions along with me were Gareth Edwards (on Terraform) and Jorge del la Cruz (on Monitoring vSphere with opensource tools). We also heard from Kev Johnson around upgrading to vSphere 6.7.
So much to say, so little time!
I decided to present on vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager (vRSLCM) because I have been actively engaged in talking to customers about this product and delivering multiple engagements with it.
Whilst there is always room for improvement, the session seemed relatively well received. I only finished tweaking the slide deck 10 minutes before I was due to go on, but this time (unlike my last session in London) finished on time. The current version of the slide deck will be available (in PDF) from the guys at the North East VMUG soon.
Where to next?
I will be tweaking the slide deck some before giving the same presentation at the South West VMUG on 20th March 2019 in Bristol!
Finally… Support Your Local VMUG
I have been an avid fan of VMUG over the last 3+ years and I really enjoy speaking at these events. However, what I think is really important is a attracting an influx of fresh community speakers as often as possible so that real life experiences can be shared.. If you are reading this and thinking about speaking at your local VMUG, stop thinking about it and put yourself forward! Whether it is sharing a success story or sharing the trials and tribulations you’ve gone through within your work, people are genuinely interested to hear about it (if nothing else so it shows them they are not alone!)
